Thermo wood coating on a benchrest stock??

Gary Ockock and Lester Bruno have rifle in the for sale section over on Benchrest Central. The stocks on these rifles have a Thermo wood coating of some type. Does anyone have any info about this, or a web site i can look at. A buddy of mine told me about a web site, so i called and they told me they were not the ones that did these stocks. I really like the look of this wood coating and i have a stock i wouldnt mind having done depending on the prices. any info would help. Thanks Lee

There are several companies doing this type of work. The one that a number of BR shooters are using is done by Hydro-dip in Boise Idaho. I know the owners and have had work done by them. Their web site is very informative Hydro-dip.com The owner's are scott and Todd Springer. Give them a call.

Not to split hairs but Hydro-Dip is in Merician, ID and I have a job by them that is out of this world, drop dead great. I have seen a number of others that have the process done to their rifles, including known BR shooters. Their jobs are great and their turn around time is short.

Yes ,I know they are in Meridian, I just said Boise because of name recognition! you are right their work is phenominal. I met them at a hunter BR match in Oregon and they are great guy's,to work with.

i looked at there pics but i didnt see what i really was hoping to see. I think a BR stock in Burl wood dark would look really nice. I may have to try it!! Lee

I didnt have any idea this would cost 400 bucks!! That's the quote i got from them today. Waaay to rich for my blood. It sure is nice looking, but not 400$ nice. Maybe someday, when my little girls are grown and gone. I am kinda bummed really. I was thinking 150 bucks, heck ya!!! Nope!!!! Lee
