Congrats on a useful Bonding Time activity. You don't see many couples co-envolved in any shooting sport.
Be tactful as a teacher, give her the info and let her digest it.
My wife and I, both retired, have taken up F-Class shooting instead of "dinner and a movie" for our primary activity together (plus some METV on the side). I have my science projects and she does her gardening but shooting is when we get up early, drive to the range, endure whatever weather, and hang out with a bunch of nice folks, drive back, dump the brass in the tumbler, and take a NAP. I'm big on naps.
Kitchen built AR15's.
She's shooting a 22 Nosgar, me a 22 Nosler. Yes I know it's not "competitive" in F-Open but it's our fun and we'll do it like we want
Both have made it all the way up to Midrange Expert looks like she will Master before me
