A friend of mine knows (knew possibly, haven't talked to him in years) the pilot that flew the mission to Libya and he was told if he hadn't been denied entry into French airspace he would have had him. Took 30 minutes extra flight time to detour French airspace and he missed him by 15 minutes. I think he knew he was lucky to be alive and shut up. Bet the French has something to do with his luck.
