Threw a load together this afternoon and went hunting. Killed one right of the bat @ 211yds, decimation. Then my brother killed one @ 458yds, again a solid body shot and again complete decimation. I'll be using this chambering for a while. My brother missed one @ 648yds, no clue how though as the bullet literally scalped this hog. Nice thing is that it only takes 10 moa to 700yds.

Good Shooting Adam!! I sure like the functionality of that stock for a chuck hunting rifle. The vultures over your way are certainly well fed. Those V max bullets sure do a number on their target. Whew! WD

I love your bullet choice! Those 53 grain V-Max's may be best all a round chuck bullet for a 12 twist rifle. My sons 22-250 LRPV eats them like candy. I watched him cream one last night at 255 yards and the V-Max threw it in the air 6 inches.

I'm running .075", but .025" would be my recommendation on 53s.

A couple years ago I had a few friends down from Indy and Somerset, Ky.
George in Ky brought a 22 Dasher. Best I remember it had a 8 twist but
he brought 60 gr V-max.
800 yard ground hog and prarie dog were no problem

Then we set up an egg rack at 234 yards with a sight in target next to the rack.
4 or 5 guys shot eggs with it and it never missed as egg

Here is the set-up at 800 yards.
Not sure what I was shooting in this video, but I am pretty
sure it was a 6 mm Dasher

Actually, Tasco was just an office in Miami FL... they contracted different companies to make stuff to fit a given market, and some of the scopes were very good... and some were garbage.

Back in the early 90's, I had a pair of 8x Steiner Marine bins, with the built in compass. $1,800. They went back to Steiner TWICE for oil leaking into the lenses, so I sold them. I bought a pair of the Tasco marine bins, with the built in compass and they were better than the Steiners... and they cost $289... and I still have them.

167yds, complete decimation of the chest and head




450yds, this hog was a big hog (about 12lbs), the 53gr VMax picked the hog completely up and flipped him off the hole.

That 53 @ 4000fps really is an awesome round. With the brake on there is no recoil.
