Nice story about your Father my Father didn't have many guns BUT he did shoot every one of them, his favorite was his Winchester 94 30/30 this rifle has taken over 50 deer with this rifle.
He received this rifle as an engagement gift from his further wife she purchased the rifle for 35 dollars at the Globe store in Scranton Pa. were married 58 years when my mother died dad went 5 years after.

That's a great story! Thanks for sharing

That was a wonderful story and I am sorry to hear about your father even though it has been a few years. My father retired from Winchester before he passed away and several of my safe queens are my father's so I truly appreciate your story and I thank you for sharing. It certainly brought back some pleasant thoughts of my father taking me hunting when I was young. :)

Andy,
That was a great story, almost a tribute to your dad, as I have mentioned to you before I am sorry you lost your dad but I am glad you have the great memories and are capable and willing to share them with us, thanks.
Wayne.

thanks Wayne.

Truly too bad your Dad didn't get a chance to fire that weapon, at least he got that "feeling" again. You know, the anticipation.

We never know when our time is up, nor our loved ones.

At least when you or your brother handle that rifle, or any of his others, you can and will think of your Dad, and the love you have for him.

Cheers to both of you, hope the fond memories carry you through.

Very touching tribute to your dad. I have a Cooper .204 and know what you are saying about those rifles. Mine shoots in the 2's and 3's if I do my part...I have put close to 1,000 rnds down the barrel and she's still a tack driver. BTW, Cooper will rebarrel one their rifles for, get this, only $125 so don't be afraid to enjoy that beauty. I just got a LVT .17 HMR which is waiting for a scope mount...looking forward to shooting it.
Happy Shooting!

$125.00!!! are you serious? I am going to shoot that gun every time I go out from now on. 16gr of powder and the cheapest barrel replacment on earth I can't afford not to shoot it all the time.

Yes I am sure.....you can call Cooper and talk to Ford in customer service. They are awesome! BTW, I put a Jared 2 ounce trigger on my .204 and love it....it will run you $180 from Jared but a very nice option ;D

My Dad is dying from heart disease and renal failure(kidney). He bought antique guns in the 50's.He bought brown besses and zouave remingtons(one was in the grease wrap and he fired it twice. The one he never shot was an experimental 50/70 rolling block carbine made for trials right after the civil war. There are only 4 or 5 in private hands and I have one that is near new. I went out and bought bell brass and custom dies and loaded it with real mild loads. It was a blast to shoot it.At 100 yards you could see the bullet going down range in the bright sunlight and was tickled that I spent all that money to shoot it. He was pleased. So was I!!!!
