So i got a deal on a brux 7mm 1.250 33 inch blank while figuring out what to do with it i found out my buddy shane G had a 7mmsaum reamer and thats one cartridge I've never had! And my buddy birdog has a range in TN that we can go over a mile ! So thats settled.
So what action buy a new one not in the cards...so it's a 40x or f class savage target
Ive got 3 barrel's for each already.
So after much debate (ie)a flip of a coin
Savage it is.
I searched for the new blot head to no avail..put an ad in the classifieds and low a behold a guy just sends me one for free ! This board rocks especially the guys that have been here for years
So now to fit it...not that easy cause the firing pin must be adjusted and the bolt slightly modified. See pics.
Let the brass search begin! And ending with 2 buddies donating some Norma slightly used brass...im on a waiting list for sime new stuff.
So my buddy shipped the reamer.
My buddy Jackie stops buy a picked up the barrel and action i tell him im in no hurry and he said thats a good thing lol.
Well a couple weeks later he calls say its ready sends me a video oa a 0 run out chamber! It finished at 30 And said if it doesn't shoot its not his fault we both laughed cause these big cases never shoot to our expectations i mean once you build that first full custom ppc or BR and shoot ligit 0 group's is pretty much down hill .
Couple day later he shows up with a gun case strapped the is 650DR it was a nice day to ride lol!
So later that night o opened up the barrel channel on the fclass savage stock to take the 1.250 straight taper barrel i hate sanding....
Its already piller and glassed bedded ...but man i hate to hang that kind of weight on the rather thin action i know alot of people do and thats ok.
But im in the mind of less stress is better .
So i bed the at the end of the forend not a pressure point just a pad.
Long range will be the game so heavy bullets it is
162 ELD to start and 183 Sierra after thati figured it would be a journey finding a load but holy cow straight out of the gate with a book load of RL19 58.2 im in the .3s!!
Let's move on the the 183s holy shit the .3 again!
Long story short im might be in love!
Ill pick the story back up when i make it to the Dasher Dome to ring some long range steel! I took a few pics and video along the way...to here the pics or it didn't happen lol
No target pics i promise you it would o ly confuse you that 25 bull targets i use had be shot earlier that week with a 6ai and 300blk.

i have to buy the reamer so hows bout a 7wsm. I have to buy a 7RM reamer for another project so mabie that. I got the brass 4 it. good luck with yout 7saum- let us know how it shoots.
