Is anybody using the Caldwell G2 ? If so what is your comments ? Good Bad or Other ? Thanks.

I would go with the Compeition Eletronics Prochrono DLX. I bought one the other day to test my 7.5X55 Swiss loads. It's awesome and affordable. It also has bluetooth and links to your phone to give the average of each string of fire you did to find the mean velocity value. Then it also prints out a PDF generated report with barometric, etc. You can save profiles for each caliber you're working on. Customer service is great too. I called them up on a Friday and I spoke with a woman who was extremely knowledgable about the product who helped me troubleshoot a Bluetooth connectivity issue. ( I had to turn on location services to pair).

It doesn't come with a tripod.. I just re-purposed the one I use for my Spotting scope.

Even though I use a Labradar I will never get rid of my G2!
I keep it for backup in case I have to send my Labradar back for repair again.
It is the best optical chrono I've ever had. I had two different prochronos previous and they just didn't compare.

I have a g2. I don't use it much but it works well every time. My phone hooks up right away.
Re-Learning how to opperate the app every time is simple but a pain ...i should write it down and keep it with the unit.
Set up is super simple. The lights are brite and not many misses if any at all.
I use it inside a chicken house so i don't have experience out in the sun. I either use a battery pack or just plug in to extension cord. I don't think mine had much internal battery life anymore. Idk.
I use a bore site to make sure I'll not shoot it. The stand with it is really light weight. I have a good hvy one I'd use if outside.

I like it and I'd grab it up and head to the range expecting it to work as it should.
