The Cabela's Mid-Atlantic Long Range Regional

Yup. 155s. The later matches on Saturday got tricky at times, but on Sunday the big any guns didn't have too much of an advantage.

Thank you to all of the shooters who participated in the First Annual Cabela's Long Range Regional Championship at Bridgeville this past weekend.

Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks to all who participated.

And a very special THANK YOU to Cabela's, Remington, Ashbury Precision and the many other very generous sponsors who helped make this a really fine event.

And a very special THANK YOU to Tony Robertson who worked so hard to make sure that the registration, squadding and stat results went smoothly - thank you my friend!

Job well done!

Best regards to all,

DE-F-Open

Yes it really is amazing that a guy shooting a 308 with 155gr bullets is outshooting 6mm,6.5mm and 7mm cases with much higher B.C.'s It happens quite often it seems.

I like to see a Palma rifle take an overall win. Way to go Nate!

Didn't Keith Trapp in F-Open take overall?

He did, Steve. I don't know if the same thing is happening elsewhere, but there is a far greater over-lap between the sling and F-Class scores at our matches this year than I've seen before. And we have some outstanding sling shooters at our matches.

I've shot a lot of Regionals and won a few. Overall is overall, regardless. It is only the score. Generally speaking, a sling shooter will take overall but they occasionally are nicked a point or two by an F-Open shooter.

did anyone shoot service for this match? if I did not have a wedding to go to on Saturday I would have gone to get some quality time on the M1 again 8) and I bet would have been merged with match rifle again.
cheers

Nothing but Match and Palma without combining. You might look at our mid-range schedule for next year when it comes out. We plan to invite the Vintage Military Rifles to shoot the Mid-Range prone matches for separate awards if enough of them show up. We had three to our last 600 yard match and they seemed to have had a good time. I enjoyed seeing those Vintage Sniper Rifles on the line!

That is the first time that I have won overall at a match. Typically the sling guys edge me out by a few or even a bunch of points. I know we are all in seperate division but I always try and at least get close to the sling guys scores.

I figure that If I can even get close to Norm Crawford, Kent Reeve, or Nate G in scores. I have shot a pretty good match in F-open.

Doc,
Good to see that you are still around. Are you still wipping them boys and girls into shape at the Naval Academy?

It was Keith Trapp who took the overall win. Wish I would have made the trip just too close to the Nationals. This is a great place to shoot with a well run match.

Congrats Keith Trapp F-OPEN Overall Winner.

Keith shot an amazing match as did Keith Weil, second in F-Open. Both of them did a great job managing the vertical the range gave to everyone as well as calling the wind.

We are planning to move the Regional to an earlier time slot for 2015. We'll have the schedule in the next month or so. We hope you can make it to some of our matches next season.
