The Best Way To Find A Lost Tool.................

99.9% of the time they are exactly where you left them. The .1% of the time that they are in a different place is when the grand-kids have been visiting or the wife is working on a craft project.

In my case it is not so much that the item is lost it is that I can't remember where I put it for safe keeping.
 
When working on tanks it was 9/16 wrenches or sockets. Seemed every hatch or cover used those bolts, especially in the engine compartment. When a pack was pulled for service you could count on finding several in the bottom of the hull. Same with changing batteries.
