The ACTUAL cost of Rifle Match Ammo

Is golf cheaper? I have never and never intend on played a single game of golf but I am curious.
I hunt and fish at what for most would be a high level. My wife tells me at tax time how much she has on the books which is $25-30K per year.
I golf about 3 times a week. One course I'm a ranger at one course and get free golf for 4 or 5 hours work on a Friday morning. Most courses near me are 45 to 80 for a cart and 18 holes. I've got about 2500 in clubs and balls are 45 a dozen. EVERYTHING has its cost. Like someone above said you can get as deep in a hobby as interest and money will allow you.

Like Social Security, you mean?

Huh.
No its sportsmen and women funding fish and wildlife improvements and infrastructure. At least PR $ doesn't go into a "trust fund" like SS, as in I will spend it now but trust me to pay you when you qualify for benefits.

PR monies are allocated to the states based on the number of licensed hunters and fishermen. Later on they added hunter safety and public ranges.
Public boat ramps and fisheries management (hatcheries, stocking, etc.) are paid for by an excise tax on fishing and boating equipment. I don't have a problem with that tax. If you don't like it, just stop hunting, fishing, or shooting.

My point was I'd not take it for granted that politicians won't figure out a way to divert it elsewhere by some means.
For example. When gambling was legalized in my state, a portion of the revenue was allocated to the school system. What they DIDN'T disclose is that they removed an identical amount from school funding and put it back into the general revenue.
But go ahead and believe whatever makes you feel good.

So true. With just about everything you can spend as much as you wish or can afford.

Just bought some more Alpha 6Dasher brass ($125). I shot this new brass Saturday in a 60rd match, + 6 sighters.
So 66 rds total @ $2.18 per round = $143.88. Add the $25 entry fee = $168.88.
Now, reusing brass eliminates the $1.25, so now we're down to .93 per round. $.93 x 66 = $61.38. Add the $25 entry fee and I'm at $86.38.
When I started F Class, 10 years ago, I calculated. 75
per round with used brass. So my ammo costs have increased .18 per round, or $11.88 per match, or 19.35%.
Rounding off, that's 1.93% per year. None of this includes equipment. I'm retired with very limited disposable income. I may be getting squeezed out of the game.

Not looking forward to 2025, especially if the election goes South.

Brass. 1.25 cents per round
Powder 22 (8 lb Varget @ $400)
Primer 09
Bullet. 60
------------------------
$2.18 PER ROUND !

This does not include any shipping/hazmat or tax.
And people balk at paying $20.00 per 50 rounds of decent. 22lr ammo to shoot ARA.
