The 6XC: related to the 6BR?

Have been thinking of building a 6BR for 600-1000 yard varminting, and someone suggested I chamber for the 6XC instead. This website has a very informative section on the 6XC, but when going through the available information it is surprising to learn that the 6XC was not derived from the 6BR, but from the 22-250. I am curious why the 6XC is included in this website, although I'm glad it is).

Thanks, Glenn

I am new, but with the mention of other 6 caliber bench rest class cartridges mentioned on this web site not based on the actual 6br case, I assume the term 6br takes in all the 6 caliber cartridges used in benchrest.

Actually, the original concept of the website was just going to be 5-10 pages where a few buddies could exchange load data, and list addresses for gunsmiths, bullet-makers, and stockers. "6mm.com" wasn't available, so we chose "6mmBR.com". Well 6mmbr.com now has over 500 pages of content. It seemed logical to include info about the 22BR and 30BR, since they are based on the same case. And then, of course, we wanted to add the BRX and Dasher wildcats. The 6XC seemed the logical next step, particularly as David Tubb really got the cartridge rolling right about the same time 6mmBR.com launched in the fall of 2004. We published the first pictures of the DTAC 115gr bullet on the internet. This gave us an opportunity to "scoop" the print magazines by providing the latest info. We're currently working on a detailed PPC page that will cover 6PPC, 22PPC, and 20PPC. Many of you want us to cover the 6.5mm chamberings too.

Resources are getting stretched thin however. We suggest you guys tell Lapua, Norma, and the powder-makers to lend their support to the site. With some sponsorship we can do some really serious testing, far more sophisticated than the kind of stuff you see in the print magazines.
