The 457 Varmint Precision Chassis barrel length?

Whichever you like. No significant advantage to either in regards to accuracy. Balance and feel is what you should decide on.

I'll probably have to order online so I won't be able to compare the 2 in person. I guess I'll go with the bull barrel when they become available to order.

I personally really like the weight/balance of the 20" bull barrel. CZ does not offer it threaded, but you can always have a smith do it.

I had a CZ 455 Precision Varmint Trainer with a 16.5" barrel. I sold it to buy the 457 Precision Varmint Trainer and went with the 24". I won't say the 24" shoots any tighter groups, but I will say it is less finicky. It will shoot many different brands of ammo and group well with several. I can change from one brand ammo to another with very little point of impact change. As with most 22LR it does have ammo it groups better with than others.

Just bought a 20” barrel version. I want to put an arca rail on it. Is the stock the same size as the standard prs1 stock?
Also, is the trigger compatible with an aftermarket trigger like a trigger tech?

I found a thread on Rimfire Central from March this year that sounds like nothing aftermarket was available at that time. People were replacing springs or just adjusting, but not replacing ... yet.

My vote would be the 24" I just like the longer barrel, Not sure if the 16" will out shoot the 24" but i like my CZ 457 VPT #02356

16" bull should be stiffer than 24" tapered
stiffer should be more accurate
16" should cost next to nothing in velocity for 22lr
things don't always work out as they 'should' :)

I bought a 457 Varmint Precision Trainer with the Manners stock & 24" threaded bbl. Liked the profile & weight of the 24" bbl, but while mine shot decently at 50yds, but even with my selected lots of SK Std+, LR Match, Rifle Match, and Lapua Center-X, it couldn't even keep all 10rds out of a magazine full on a 6" plate at 200yds. After the past four years of shooting custom repeaters with custom barrels, it's just hard to put up with less accuracy than those Bartlein, Benchmark, Krieger, Lilja, and Shilen barrels provide. I really like the newer CZ457 actions, and some of their Turkish walnut stocks have very nice grain & figure. The adjustable trigger is excellent IMHO, and CZ deserves a lot of credit for bringing a fully adjustable model like this to market. I've not changed springs on any of the three I have, but have been able to adjust sear engagement & return spring tension so that they've all got a nice clean break at 1-1.2lbs. I have rebarreled a 457 American & the VPT mentioned above due to issues with accuracy, using Shilen select match ratchet rifled blanks, and am quite happy with the resulting rifles. I left the factory bbl on a 457 MTR because it has acceptable accuracy.
