The 22xc Thread

This will be the official place I drop all the 22xc testing.

I have my SRP Peterson brass from Tubb and I resized it using a standard 6xc bushing die. I used a 248 bushing and a 224 expander ball. One sizing. Pulled the handle twice per case. The second pull greatly improved the uniformity from top to bottom.

Case necks measure .2515 od top to bottom. Very impressive consistancy really. These are ready to shoot a match as far as I can tell.20211020_113704.jpg20211020_113654.jpg20211020_113717.jpg

I'm having a hard time getting anyone excited but I'm trying!!
It's a cool project and I applaud your effort but with it being so similar to the VERY popular and more standardized 22 and 6mm Creedmoor I'm afraid you may struggle to gain much "want" for this. I'm sure you'll have a lot of tire kickers but only time will tell if those lookers turn in to actual purchasers.

I would think the 22xc is actually super easy. I think it is all about the brass. 6xc from Tubb is cheap and one resizing and you are GTG.

I have sold two barrels so far.

Do you plan to use some heavy bullets like 80-90g? What kind of shooting and distance are you shooting this 22XC at? PRS?

I always like to "FIND" pressure because the accuracy node is REAL close!

Everyone would like to see the Lab Radar screen on the accuracy node....coyotes and chucks look out!!!

Bradley, a 60g V max would be Hell on Wheels in the 22 XC on a coyote and Chuck....would smoke crows!

A 9tw will likely shoot them ok but unless you're shooting them at around 5,000ft elevation you won't get the full BC of the bullet. Not ELD-M's but I've shot lots of Berger 75gr VLD's from a 22-6mm with a 9tw Lilja and though a 8tw would be more optimal that 9tw still shoots them extremely well.

This is 75 eldm with r16.

Conditions were really tough. The bottom row was the only row that was not awful switching winds.

It calmed down right before the storm. I believe the bottom row is more of an 20211231_165001.jpgof how they shot.
