I just wanted to take a minute and say thanks to all for the vast knowledge resources and help on this forum.
Over a year ago I started working on a 7mm mag Remington 700BDL. It was a mid-90s rifle My dad gave me that I had no idea anything about. I bought a cheap Tupperware stock and did my first action bedding job. I filled the hollow stock with Walmart bags stuffed tight. This rifle is an absolute dream to shoot. I don't know how but the recoil is much less now than it was with the factory wooden stock.
WVLONGSHOT Hooked me up with some federal 215m magnum primers when none were to be found anywhere. New Nosler brass was bought from another member. 160 grain nosler accubonds were sourced from a couple different members here as well. Had some problems with hard bolt lift but realized I was over max and also there was some case lube left on the cases.
I spent way too many rounds and load development, But finally I'm happy where I'm at.
Shooting 3 shot 5/8" to 3/4" at 100 yards repeatedly is pretty good for this thin sporter barrel. At 300 yd it opened up just a touch but still inside one MOA.
Hunting season is a bonus and I feel very confident and happy with this entire setup.
Thank you everyone.
