Thanks for the memories

I started shooting Benchrest matches in 1992. because of work, I could not shoot very much back then. I attended my first Super Shoot in 2003. The few trophies that I have received are not very important, but the friends that I made are. Many that were active then have since passed away. The late Dick Wright helped me get a writing job with Precision Shooting Magazine. Others that have been very special to me that have passed on are Faye Boyer, Skip Otto. Lowell Hottenstein, Don Gentner, Arnold Jewell, Del Bishop, Marcy Lyons, Allie Euber,, Tom Libby, and many others. All of these shooters were great to share their amazing knowledge of the sport with a greenhorn. Ps- let me add Jerry Simison, who was a great friend and gunsmith.

There are so many who still compete that helped me, I know that I will leave out more than I name. Some of the special friends that come to mind are Francis Broussard, Billy Stevens, Bart Sauter, Joe Krupa, Tony Boyer, Lee Euber, Richard Milton, Speedy Gonzalez. and George Ke;lbly, Sr. More will come to mind, but let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for some wonderful memories. James Mock PS- I will add Jerry Lahr to this group. I shot hos great bullets for quite a while. Also, I would be remiss without naming Dr. Maretzo. He not only tolerated me as a writer, he told me at my first match to buy quality bullets. He gave me some bullets to shoot and told me to contact Myles Hollister. Although Myles left us much too soon, I did use his bullets. As I remember, he charged $115 per 1000 for his great 68 grain bullets. There were many others to whom I owe a debt of gratitude. In the last few years, Dusty Stevens has been a great friend. He has encouraged me to keep shooting, although I should have quit several years ago.
