Texas State Long Range Championship Results

Day 1:
F-Open results are all I have. I will encourage my correspondent to provide complete results tomorrow. ;) [br]
Conditions started off mild in match 1 but quickly deteriorated to tough in matches 2 & 3. Erik Cortina leads by a single X over Mark Walker and Freddy Haltom, tied at 586-17X. Matt Davis shot an outstanding 200-14X in match 1, followed closely by Mark and Erik with 200-11X and 200-10X, respectively. Congratulations for some fine shooting, guys. The always engaging Michelle Gallagher is high woman. Tomorrow will tell the tale if the rains don't come early. Stay tuned.

Individuals day 2 update.

We are currently on rain delay. Relay 3&4 shot first today and after the pit change they delayed it until rain passes.

Congratulations to Ben Milam from team Tex-Mex for shooting a 150-15X at 800 yards on today's first match!

I know the ability of these guys, they all shoot with GREAT precision! They shoot the way I hope to shoot one day. My hat is off to y'all! Great shooting and I am proud to know and shoot with men of this caliber! Excellent!

Holy smokes those look like 600 yard scores not 1000yards!!!! Very Very impressive.

Thanks for the updates fellas.

UPDATE - Re: Texas State Long Range Championship Results

Day 2:
Rain interrupted the action at least once today. Maybe we will hear directly from some of the participants. Here are the Day 2 and Agg results. I hope that they are all readable. It appears that David Mann is the new Texas LR F-Open champ. Congratulations, David. [br]

UPDATE - Better files this time. In F-Open, David Mann took first and the Texas LR F-Open championship with 1033-43X, followed by Mark Walker at 1033-42X and Freddy Haltom at 1033-40X. Congratulations, fine shooting by all in challenging conditions. [br]
F-T/R was won by Herb Edwards with 999-25X, followed by Joe Woodhead at 991-22X and Jade Delcambre at 978-20X. Fine shooting with .308 in that weather, gentlemen. [br]
Sling files in next post.

Sling Results - Re: Texas State Long Range Championship Results

Stacy Tamulinas won the Texas State LR Palma Rifle championship with a fine 1024-44X, followed by Jon Rhynard at 1019-42X and Gary Henry at 1018-39X. The Match Rifle winner was Randy Nash with 1010-35X, followed by Bennet Ford at 997-30X. Congratulations to all for holding up those rifles in the wind and posting winning scores.

Hey Steve... I shoot with Stacy quite often. He is a T-Total shooting machine! It is a rarity indeed when he does not win!

Congrats to David, and Freddy in Open!
Congrats to Herb, Joe and Denys in FTR!
Congrats to Stacy, Jon and Gary in Palma!

Congrats to all the shooters that hung in there at the range with us through 3 difficult days of conditions. Friday in the 2 man team match the wind was some of the hardest to read I have experienced. Saturday day one for individuals was then just as bad. Today we shot in some wind, a bit less switchy and more consistent, but had some rain to shoot in even following the delay.

On the open side, I don't remember a match that wound up as close as this one, the top three places all tied in score and only 3 Xs separating us, and 4th only one point back. Whew - it was a tough crowd!

Thanks to the Bayou Rifles volunteers for putting on another fun, safe, and successful match!!!

Congratulations to you as well Mark. You did an awesome job keeping up with the conditions.

This match was indeed one or the best matches I have ever shot. First, second, and third place were separated by "X's" both Saturday and Sunday, impressive!

I would like to invite out of state shooters to come down to Texas and shoot against some of the best and friendliest shooters in the World. If you are looking for a challenge, you will not be disappointed! ;D

Also, compete at Raton in the Nationals or Worlds and you will see Texas well represented, as usual. I seem to remember a few did Ok last year. There were three Texans in the top ten F-Open and only two Californians. We'll see what can be done about that. ;)

I have shot with Stacy Tamulinas, Mark Walker, Erik Cortina, Matt Davis and Ken Dickerman for 2 years now. I can tell you that they shoot scores at 1000 yards, that most people would like to shoot at 600 yards with!! These guys are incredible shots. If "out-of-towners" want a crack at the REAL TITLE (as Mel Gibson said in Lethal Weapon) they need to head to Texas and shoot against these guys! I have shot against some real competitors in New York and these guys would give Texans a REAL run for the money! I guess I have had the good fortune / honor to shoot with the best of the best! My hat is off to ALL those who competed>> Great shooting guys!!

Great match, I had a great time and met some fine folks from Texas. I think there is a mistake on the results posted. I shot 978 20X in FTR and took 3rd place and I think John Hayhurst took 4th place with 977 16X. Congrats to all the winners, they earned it! The score Erik shot saturday was unbeleivable in those conditions and the perfect 150 15X at 800 that Ben shot still blows my mind as it wasn't dead calm conditions.

You are correct, I will fix it. Sorry, my mistake.

I agree Erik, good people and great shooters in that match. Very well run by the match director and everyone else at Bayou shooting club. Well done guys and gals!

It was a fun match. I was squadded with Ken Dickerman for the weekend and it was a pleasure to score for such a great shooter. On the second day he dropped a single point for the whole day. Great shooting.

On the other hand I had a senior moment brain fart on the first day and decided to simply throw away 7 points with two shots, just because. That set the tone for the rest of the day for me.

Thanks to everyone who came out, congratulations to all the winners and indeed, to everyone who finished. That first day was brutal.

Now looking forward to Raton.
