Pirate, I don't know if I scared most of them off this spring and early summer as I was busting one about every weekend but they got a bit scarce. I think it's because it's about
a mile and a half to the San Antonio River to hide and cool off and with this heat it was too far to walk. Cool weather coming in and I think if they start showing I'll probably set my trap.
I like to get a nice 100-120 pounder to cook a whole hog. It's not safe for them to fall asleep while laying in the stock tanks as the ranchers are armed to the teeth and don't tolerate those hogs messing with their stock tank water.

The heat does slow them down, these will show up once or twice a week sometimes, but you never know when.

My son thumped a Big Nasty last Saturday morning. You can see the exit in the pic. He still ran about 300 yards. We hunt southwest of Sweetwater TX.

Having coffee this morning with Phideoux sprawled out on the floor,her head comes up and she runs to the front window with her hackles up and growling low.Went and looked out,PIGS,
she knew they were there. I now have a new pig guard dog.Exit wound destroyed the right shoulder.

I have some decent sized pigs showing up morning and afternoon at one of my feeders, if they show up before the deer next Saturday morning I will dispatch one of them to the big processor in the sky.

As it turns out I may have got two yesterday,I do believe the bullet when it passed through the first it got the one behind it also.Little critter got off in the back somewhere and the
buzzards found it.I'm trying to keep the buzzards well fed.

As it is I did get two with one shot Friday morning.Went out to set fire to a brush pile and found this little critter.The buzzards been hanging around but I guess they wanted it moved to
a more quiet place and served up on a platter with hot sauce.

Here are 2 of many that are feeding off of my corn that were dispatched Saturday morning and afternoon. Could have shot another one Sunday morning but I was walking up to my blind when I saw 3 moving across the pasture, they disappeared before I could get on them.
