Texas Mid Range

While very entertained, I didn't believe much of anything I was hearing. I was looking around for my waders because it was getting pretty deep back there!

Congratulations Freddy! Miss shooting with you guys but I should be doing it again soon.

Great shooting to Ken as well.

The scores are posted and the email just arrived so I wanted to say what a job Freddy did only dropping two points over 6 matches, that was shooting, Ken congrats on your national record, also Ben I understand you bettered your own national record great job to all three of you. Bryan, you are shooting at a level nobody can touch, I have forwarded the email to Ben Brooks looks like you have every club record we keep in F-TR so I now have no club records that is painful.

I wanted to say the Bayou F-TR group put on a wonderful showing taking 1 2 3 in the State F-TR, keep it in the 10 ring.

Hey Don, look what you accomplished.. You have been shooting competitively for less than a full year and you are 1.) Master Classification and 2.) You WON that classification; 3.) You were just 1 point shy of Johnny Ingram, who is High Master and no slouch either! Methinks that is a whale of a job. And as you so aptly stated, our F-T/R boys really came home with the goods.

All in all, it was a match to behold! Everyone did an excellent job! Remember, there were a few matches in there where the wind tested everyone's ability to the max>>>and they still came out smelling like a rose!

I was just reminded that Bayou Rifles also took the Texas F-TR team 1st place way to go Bryan and Denys.

Hey Don...welcome to the forum! Nice shooting!

Vince

Hello Vince, thanks I have been lucky to have found a mentor in Ben, in each sport I have tried I always find a mentor and let him guide me through the sport, Ben was the first shooter that took the time to tell me about the sport. I now know almost all of them would have answered all my questions. Having Ben to bounce questions off of has allowed me to excelerate my shooting much faster than I expected. I want to thank him one day for all the help, one thing I have been dong is passing it on by helping anyone I can....

Hope to meet you some day, we can all go to the range and I can school you old farts in some 1000 yard shooting.......be safe and keep shooting

Don

I would like to point out that Brian(ftr) was tied (score not x)with Freddy(open) on score after the first day. That is awesome! I had a great time also and it was my first big match. I will get classified after this match. All the guys at bayou are awesome. I learn something from them every time I show up to a match.

Hi yew does the classification work? I've shot 3 45 rd matches at Bayou plus the TSRA now, so I should have enough to be classified.

All you need is 120 shots. You should be getting your classification card soon.

You can do a lookup on NRA website to see if you have classification... Here's the link:

There is somewhat of a delay at the NRA so don't get down the card will come, get your NRA# and check the site it might post before your card arrives.

You have to have shot and recorded a minimum of 120 rounds at a specific distance (Mid-Range or Long range) not a combination of both.

With TSRA you will have enough to get classified at Mid-Range only.

I send the monthly Long Range scores to NRA usually the Thursday after the match. TSRA may take longer.

Denys sends the scores off religiously. I got classified shortly after my second long range match at bayou. I am sure tsra will send them in soon if they haven't already. I am also waiting for them for midrange classification.

Edit: Just to clarify on the scores, I have received the scores personally from the match director/TSRA. What I meant was the NRA has not updated my classification yet, thus making the assumption they hadn't received the scores. Sorry for the assumption. It's likely the NRA just hasn't processed them yet.

If I shoot the 1000 yard match this Sunday, I'll have 45 + 60 shots for long range classification. Is there another long range match before the club championship in Dec?

Not at Bayou, however you can shoot in Master Unclassified and win that group and or the whole match, also if your a member you can win the club championship. The NRA will send the card but as I said before there is a delay between scores received and card in your hand. After you have established the 120 shots and you know what class you would be in you can always shoot that class, in our local match.

You can always check your classification at the NRA Classification lookup page. They update the website way before you get the card in the mail.

I looked it up on nra and they have it down as HPR mid-range prone instead of F-class. I will try and call on Monday and get it cleared up.
