Texas Mesquite stock project...finally complete

Hoping it's okay to post this here, first time posting anything to this board (I'm somewhat of a Newbie here).

I'd like to give a big shout out to Jason Pulvermacher (X-Ring Stocks) and Ian Kelbly for helping me get this stock from slabs in my buddy's barn to my dream gunstock. Jason did the assembly and Kelblys did the final inletting, bedding and clear coat. 99.9% Texas Mesquite (and some blue resin to fill any holes) and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. I actually had no idea mesquite could be this pretty.

Thanks to both companies for working through this with me.

Mesquite is beautiful!

Wow. I spent last winter down in S Arizona and thought about what some of that big mesquite would do for a stock. Nice! What is the blue in the forearm spots?

ok I gotta say it: your optic should not cost less than your front rest!
Granted, but I wanted to shoot it, and the scope that's going on this one is in Japan having the reticle swapped out. So I had to choose between letting it sit in the safe or putting the T36 on there and slinging lead downrange. It actually handles pretty nice with the Weaver.

That being said I've already swapped the T36 out with a Leupold 45x just to see how that set up feels.

Beautiful Stock! Mesquite is a great wood and the “Southwest” turquoise epoxy fill is a classic!

Cliff Claven Moment:, “Did you know ….”
Despite its meandering grain, mesquite is at top of list for being dimensionally stable. There is virtually no shrinkage or shifting along any axis as it dries and will continue to remain so throughout its useful life as your gun stock :)
