Testing the 6br?

I want a good 600 yard load. What would be a good range to test loads? I have a weaver 36 so I cant see the holes at 600 very well. Should I test at a shorter range so I can make sure I do the most of my part? Such as 300 yards?

Test at 600 yards for a 600 yard load. I don't think anyone can see 6mm holes at 600 yards even with a 60X spotting scope. If you have no pits, shoot and then go look.

Start by getting the gun/load shooting well @ 200/300. If it won't group at 300, most likely (I know, everyone knows some exception to the rule, but generally speaking) it ain't going to group well @ 600. Once it's shooting the way you want @ 300, head on out to 600 and try it there. And unless you have a perfect day (no haze or mirage, and the light is coming in at the right angle) and a white target backer, you probably still won't be able to see 6mm bullet holes most of the time @ 600. Some of the higher $$$ glass can do it some of the time, but I think about the only way to see the bullet holes all the time is with a video camera ;)

We made up some large "shoot and see" type targets out of some white rigid styrofoam insulation board (available from Home Depot) use the 1.5" thick stuff, paint a flat black circle on the non film side, they show shots at 600 really well, and last a long long time.
