Testing Loads-ejector plunger

While testing loads for new 308 F/TR rifle is it safe to leave out the ejector plunger and spring so I can get a better feel for any tightness of the brass when I start to get near my max load.

I don't know if you currently own one but its always best to use a Chronograph while working up loads IMHO. It will also give you alot of info on how hot your load is getting.

Fred,

Yes I do have a chrono and it will also be used but I just wanted to get a better feel on the bolt extraction.
Thanks

You don't need to remove the ejector, the brass will flow into the ejector hole in the bolt face when you exceed the pressure limits of the brass.
