Teslong Picture: Do you think this is a donut forming?

After viewing the picture above I think this^^^^ is the way for you to go. I'm wondering if your mag length will be too short though?
It's a long action, 17# BR gun with a drop port. I can go as long as I want :D, I just went with the reamer that Jim Borden had since I didn't know if I would stick with heavy bullets or drop down to the 130gn class. I still haven't decided because the gun went all wacky when the weather got cold and is shooting like doodoo with ES's of 70. I'm toying with drilling out my flash holes but got side tracked by the donut discovery. My gut tells me that small flash holes and 40gns of powder don't play well together in cold weather.

Yes....you can run away from the donut by changing the throat length. Even with that approach, you still need to address the donut issue for reasons other than bullet seating.

Good shootin'. :) -Al

All the copper looking areas look like galling to me. Can someone comment on what it is. Still think it looks like the ring is mid length of the neck. A donut should be much closer to the shoulder? Looks like almost zero chamfer.
Thats what it looks like to me as well, galling. Better neck lube or more of it as it appears dry.

Not an expert on the 6.5x47, but it looks like it be the beginning of the case neck separating at the shoulder neck junction.
Tim
do a paperclip investigation, is that line convex or concave. To me it looks like a crack a forming a,d I agree with TIMO that you are about to lose a case neck
