Terry Leonard LR stock

Looks great. I think Terry told me that he turned stocks 3 or 4 rpm when applying the clear.
I never had the opportunity to talk with him about his work or process.
I can tell you I sanded till my elbows hurt with 2 different grits, and never touched wood.
1 good dose of polyester primer another good blocking in preparation for some polyester clear.
4 hours of sanding and polishing just soaking in the design and work that he put into this and every stock of his I've had the pleasure to work on.

Terry told me that when he first started making stocks, he coated them with 2-part epoxy. It turned out to be too much work and he changed to an easier finish. You may have one of the 2-part epoxy ones. Below is my Terry Leonard stock and Terry told me it was finished in epoxy. It was plain compared to yours.DSCF2011 (2).JPG

I was able to see a couple layers in my sanding process.

I once had one of Terry's personal pieces of lumber made into one of his stocks . I remember it having 4-5 different types of figure in the one blank . That stock traveled the USA I sold it to a shooter in Idaho and the last I heard of it was the late James Phillips owned it .He was a craftsman no doubt great to see it brought back.
