Temperature to soften epoxy glue?

What is the lowest approximate temperature required to soften epoxy glue enough to separate bonded parts?

Depends on the formulation and how thick it is between the mated parts but 250° F would be where I'd start to expect to see softening.

What is it you want to separate? Metal's easier than wood; an industrial heat gun works pretty good, or a propane torch held not too close. I've used both to separate glued-on barrel extensions ("bloop" tubes). Otherwise you can use an infrared heat lamp if you want a broader application.

If you are separating parts, freeze the rifle for a bit in a deep freezer. Preserves the bedding and makes pulling the parts apart easier.
