Temperature stability of N140 and N150?

How stable are these two powders during temp changes? Is it as stable as Varget? Thinking about trying it in a 308 with 155's for F/TR out of a 28" barrel.

Thanks

Hey TRX, I have no experience with N140, however, I have a fair amount of experience with N150. I used to use N150 in my 6mmBR using 105 Berger B/T's. During the cooler months N150 may be the BEST powder I have used in my 6mmBR. Once the temps started sailing up to 85+ degrees, my "X" count went way down. My "scores" stayed the same BUT you can't win at 300 yards with just "high scores">>you MUST have a high "X" count to win. So although they are "somewhat" stable, they are NOT in the same category as an "extreme" powder...

i am led to believe that varget is one of, if not the most, temp insensitive powders. n 540 is temp sensitive and i found this out the hard way. just got 8 lb of n140 and will find out this winter how it reacts . i think all vhitavouri powders tend to be temp sensitive. if you work up a safe load in winter and shoot same in summer...be careful.

Im shooting N-150 now in my FTR rig and really like it but i worked up the load in hot weather and its not a "HOT" load so we'll see what happens. So far its extremely accurate, much more so than Varget was with the 200 grain hybrids in my gun. Varget shot really well with the 185s but i never could get the 200s to shoot like the 185s shot with it.
