Temperature insensitive ammo?

I know that lapua product # 43M7620HPS-Ti i(308 ammo) is a factory load of temperature insensitive powder, and I have heard rumors that Hornady Superformance is too. But, I was wondering if there is any others factory ammo that uses temperature insensitive powder?

I am suppressed that more do not offer this. I would think that it would be a great selling point.

Hodgdon makes a whole line up of what they call Extreme powders that are not temperature sensitive.

i think there is a BIG difference in the words "Temperature insensitive" and "less temp sensitive"

i have not seen a powder advertised as "Temperature insensitive".

You are absolutely correct. But, in my testing I have seen a deviation of velocity of 100fps based on temperature using my best hand loads. True that the temp variance was large at 0 degrees and 90 degrees. But, I do experience this difference in my hunting with this gun. It just depends what I am hunting and when. I too have tried fed gold metal with great results, especially at 400 to 800 yards. But, I am not searching for a match round. I am searching for a hunting round with a powder that is as temp insensitive as possible.

That would be ideal. Sometimes I have time to reload, sometime I don't. I would like to have an off the shelf option for those times.

Don't believe printed merchandising, web brochures, or even anecdotal observations.
It is possible for insensitive loads in one finished barrel, to be sensitive in another finished barrel. This, depending on the bore/groove dimensions/area, throating, and condition. Some dimensions change with temps, and they all affect the pressure curve, which affects powder burn rate.

You should verify attributes in YOUR shooting system, and really this is trial & error.
It's like actual muzzle velocity, or accuracy from off the shelf, as these things cannot be predicted looking at the box.

It's not what you want to hear, but what you'll find one way or another.

I try to do load work up in temperatures when the ammo will be used.

When Hunting it's usually between 30 and 60 degrees, so do load development at about 55 degrees.....not the middle of summer when it's 95 outside.

Target shooting loads are developed at 75 degrees or so. I rarely target shoot below 60 and up to 90 degrees

This makes sense to me because there are no perfect powders
