TC G2 Contender?

Has anyone here had any experience with the TC G-2 Contender rifle, From what I can see it would be a very light, and compact package. Three barrels spring to mind, 223 Rem, 6x223, and 221 Fireball. It seems like an economical way to get several rifles and versatility out of one type of platform. Some say they are very accurate and I have heard others just curse them...looking for more feedback.

I own a g2 and an encore. The g2 I have is a 17hmr and is very accurate (it will out shoot a cz a savage and a weatherby/anschutz. And shoots with a volsquartsen10-22 custom that all my buddies have ) I plan on buying a 221 fireball rifle barrel and cutting it down to 16" and use it as a pistol barrel so I can keep the large forend. They are a neat gun they even have an encore on the gun of the week

Change of plans...they are closing the TC plants down.

No they are not closing the T/C plant. They are moving it. They will still be doing business. Even if they stopped making Frames there are enough out there to never be without one. There are all kinds of custom barrel makers for the T/C's. I have 4 different barrels for my Contender pistol that will out shoot 90% of the rifles you will see.

I have a .221FB barrel that I re-chambered from a factory .22 Hornet. I have shot groups with this in the .3's. Not bad for a pistol

According to thompson they pushed the production forward to cover the down time during their move.
