Tax return = New scope

Soooo... I found out I can get an employee purchase program through work. I work at a gun shop, and both Nightforce and Leupold offer great discounts. So... I'm going to get a bullet drop compensated reticle Leupold for my 6.8 AR project. Next up, a Nightforce!!! I am thinking 12-42 NXS. This will be for my 6mmBR Savage target project, a gun I plan on building for shooting 600-1000 yards. I will also occasionally use it for a long range varmint shot. I love magnification, with my rimfires I have 4-12 powers, and pretty much always have it on 12. I don't think that having a minimum 12 power will bother me, and the 42 will be great for that ultra long shooting. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me out any further, or reasons I shouldn't go with this scope? It seems like Nightforce is about the top of the top when it comes to scope, and it will be hard to write a check for a scope that could get me from 1-6 other guns...but I think it will be the right move.

Nightforce is a good standard. Most of the top competitors in F-Class, BR and tactical all use it. You shouldn't be disappointed.

mitch: You might want to consider the Nightforce benchrest 12-42x. The BR does have 1/8 moa clicks, screw-on lens and turret caps, and sells for around $450 less than the NXS. I see many benchrest models at our local benchrest groundhog match's, only a very few NXS's. I have 2, 12-42's and 1 8-32x, so you can tell I'm rather biased. :)

Nightforce scopes are one of the very best scopes in the $1300.00 to $1800.00 range. There are other scopes on the market that are at least as good and some are better March and Schmidt & Bender being the very best money can buy some of these models are over $3500.00 and you always get what you pay for when it comes to buying a scope. With all that being said the Nightforce Bench rest is probably the best bang for the buck. A 12X42X56 with retcile of your choice retail $1359.00 and a lot of shooters that have both the BR & NSX say the BR model is clearer when both scopes are set side by side. A good piece of advice is to bite the bullet a buy the better scope the first time. Rather that learning it the hard way like most of us have of not spending the money and then spend a lot more later to do it right. As Always Frank is right on!!! He isn't biased he just knows his stuff!!

Go NightForce, I own two, 5.5x22x56, NP1RR & 12x42x56 Benchrest, NP2DD..... Spent the money, only cry once as another fellow shooter would say...
