I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the 2012 deadline for Tax Year 2011 is April 17 at 11:59 PM.
If you haven't done your taxes yet, here's a package that covers Federal AND State returns and lets you eFile for a quicker refund. I've use the downloadable TurboTax version for quite a few years. It works pretty darn well considering the complexity of the tax codes. NOTE: If you are self-employed, be sure you look into the deductions for self-financed medical insurance -- can make a big difference in your tax obligations. Likewise business owners with hardware purchases in 2011 should look at Section 179 expensing option. FYI, if you are claiming business vehicle expenses using flat mileage rate, there are two rates in effect for tax year 2011: $0.51/mile from 1/1 - 6/30/2011 and $0.55/mile from 7/1 - 12/31/2011.
