Tasco World Class

katokoch

250 or bust
Before people start wincing and dry-heaving after reading "Tasco World Class", the scope is one of the older manufactured scopes and is NIB... never been mounted.

It's a 36x44 fixed power, AO, with 1/8" adjustments and a target-dot reticle. Price is $95.

For the sake of trying out a 36x scope for a 50-yard rimfire rifle, I don't think it sounds so bad. I did personally handle the scope back in August but didn't inspect it very hard. I did take it outside and take a look through and quite frankly it wasn't that bad. I'm buying it through a guy in my town so there is no worry about it getting messed up during shipping, except for me driving over to his home.

I'm not looking for a Swarovski or S&B... I know Tasco has a rather cheap reputation for their high-magnification variable scopes, but this is a 36x fixed power. Much more simple than a variable scope and fewer things to mess up.

I currently have a Mueller APV 4.5-14x4omm AO scope on the rifle now and would like to try a 36x... This scope seems like a good opportunity for me to do it. What do you think?

On a side note... do you think the 44mm objective scope will fit with Weaver bases and medium Burris Zee rings?

I have one of these and it is currently on a 6mmBR benchrest gun I jsut bought I think that the 36x is stretching the TASCO glass too far and the image is really lacking clarity.

I have not used it enough to know whether it tracks or not. At this point I do not trust the scope.

But for $95 new...................

I have a 8-40x50 that worked well for about 3 years and 1200 rounds. Finished 10th in one comp with 60 shooters. Some time after that time the reticle came loose and rotated. It's been in to be repaired and while the reticle is fixed the AO shifts on each shot.

What caliber/weight rifle did you have it on?

I'd go for it in a heartbeat.
