Target cameras

I've run mine out to 1/4 mile. It is extremely sensitive to line-of-sight, I'll admit that much. I'll see if I can get you a rough parts list from amazon. To be honest I haven't messed with it much. I can only shoot long range (and much at all) during winter when there isn't much to do and the crops are off.

I wish there was a E-Z way to focus the camera other than moving the camera... and related stuff.... towards or away from the target.

Do you mean "focus" or "zoom"? For focus you can remove the weather shield over the LED's and lens then actually focus the camera when you have it in the best position.

I set my camera up using a tablet out at the target. This give me the same view as when I'm back at the line where I prefer to use a notebook that gives me better reception on our range that has a series of safety baffles in the first 60 yards.

For even better reception at long ranges I use a USB WiFi adapter that I can extend above the laptop with a USB extension cable. I place the WiFi adapter about 3 feet above my shooting position and the signal strength almost doubles.

As for "seeing" the .223 holes I just use a 3" Orange Stick on for an aim point, applied to the blank side of the target. Holes show right up. For real long ranges I just use larger target spots, up to the 12" Shoot-N-C size.

Best position I've found for the camera is right at the same height of the target center and off to one side or the other of the target by a foot or so. Since I can preview by using the tablet it makes setup about a 5 minute process at the longest. Takes longer to get back to the firing position.
