Taking a break, Have any of you?

This Saturday will be my first match after about 10 months off. I'm not sure why I took it off, but it happened. I suppose it was a combination of a new job and distraction from another hobby. I went out last weekend to do some load development and realized just how relaxing and fun shooting is, so now I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

Been quite a while since my good shooting buddy had a few medical issues. No fun to go shooting by yourself.
Just got a couple of barrels so I need to go see how they shoot. And, life has gotten in the way. Much more important than going shooting.
But I think about it often. ;D

I took some intentional breaks, and one non-intentional break. Intentional breaks where while attending college, and now, winters. In the northeast, I have to migrate indoors during the winter, and I am beginning to develop an aversion to indoor ranges (too stuffy, hot or cold, but never "just right"). My unintentional break was when I had my appendix removed in 2006. I lost the entire outdoor season.

I back slide today. Well it's not high power but it's still shooting!!! 82 days ???

I love shooting in the winter honestly. I'm more comfortable all bundled up like the kid from christmas story and my recoil goes to nill with all the padding. Plus snow dampens what sound there is left when using a suppressor. I have taken breaks before but always unwillingly or due to budget concerns. Saving up and stocking up components has helped stabilize my shooting habbits and now that I have access to greener pastures so to speak here in Colorado it has become more fun than it used to be for me to get out and shoot.

I haven't golfed since the start of the year--been focusing on shooting and gunsmithing.

The problem is there just isn't enough time to do everything. Sometimes I go back to what I was doing before and sometimes my interests keep moving on.

Yes. New job put a damper on and then I tore a rotor cuff in my right shoulder that makes it really hard to lay out. Damn thing doesn't seem to want to heal and the surgeon says I don't need surgery.
