TAC....or AR-Comp?

I'm loading for a 6mm ARC, 12.5" SBR with adjustable gas, suppressed. Its a 400 yd max gun and I'm looking for sub MoA at 100 yds (1-8x LPVO)

Both are supposedly clean burning, as I'm looking to minimize burnt carbon on the brass and clogging the gas system.

Using 30.6 gr LeveRevolution which is super dirty I get a huge fireball out the suppressor with 90 Berger Target bullets.

What are your thoughts of Alliant AR-Comp vs, Ramshot TAC powder for my application?

AR-Comp is the best powder that exists and you can't change my mind.


Tac is good, but it's a ball powder.

I'd load ten rds of each and see what my barrel likes. Both good powders

AR COMP is good but running suppressed you're almost guaranteed that it'll run dirty no matter what you run.

Yeah.... the carbon blowback of suppressors is real

AR-Comp.is a great powder except it is very hard to source and expensive when found. VV-135 is a great sub. JMO

AR-Comp & H4895 are both great, with H4895 almost impossible to find. Now with the price hikes, all VV powders are now reasonably priced by comparison. Hard to argue against using VV on both price and how clean they burn. With your short barrel you might want to consider VV N133 or N530.

From a 12.5" sbr, I think you're going to get a fireball, and carbon from the unburnt powder no mater what powder you run.

Just Picked up a pound of AR Comp yesterday at lgs. $54 plus sales tax. IMHO, its worth it.

Tac works real well in my Grendel....better than AR-Comp and may be the ticket for your Arc loads.
