T36 Optical Quality

I have noticed comments from various scources that the optical quality of these tended to vary but has now improved . Does anyone know around what serial number range that the improvement occurred? I am looking for one but where I live the only shop here has only got one in stock so I cannot compare side by side.

Ask if you can take it outside and look through it. If you like it buy it! If you dont put it back. You will need something firm to set it on though. Good luck! Lee
