T/c icon re barrel

Hello guys, long time reader, first time posting. I am considering buying a t/c icon in 30tc and rebarreling to 6.5 creedmoor. Not sure what is entailed in this, but I am quite certain that I am not going to find a 6.5 icon any time soon so I am taking this approach. I have never had new barrel installed like this before and not sure what problems I will run into. I love my icons in 22.250, .243 and 308. But I am looking for a foolish project I guess.

2.780" AOL is about max that will fit in the 30TC detachable magazine. If you can find a 6.5 Creedmoor bullet/reamer/freebore combination this short, no problems at all. I don't shoot 6.5 Creedmoor, but from what I've read 2.780" AOL would be on the short site to reach the lands for most.

Interesting point, the main purpose of this gun would be single load bench work, however I could see a time or two where I may want mag load. Thanks for the input, I didn’t give that a thought.

If you can find a long action Icon they come with a hinged floor plate that should provide you additional room to play with CBTO.

I have one that I can measure if you are interested. Mine is very generous and allows me to seat my bullets well long.

I believe the .243,.308, 6.5 CM and 30tc is the same mag. I think I have one new in the package, will try and find it. I made the mistake of looking at the bore of my Icon(30tc) with my new scope. I will barrel to 30tc since I have a case of factory rds, besides all the brass and bullets I have been reloading.
Found the mag, it is a dimension/venture "B" series for 243,7-08,308w,30tc. I purchased it thinking it works for my dimension 22-250. It doesn't, if anyone is needing a spare mag make me an offer.

So I decided to keep the icon in 300 win mag. Originally bought it used from Brileys with a Nikon monarch cost 350 shipped to me. The stock was spray painted black. When I pulled it from the stock I noticed the walnut so I refinished it and added a muzzle break. Really happy with how it turned out!
