Switching front sight assembly on AR

I want to change the front sight assembly on an AR-15, M-4, that has no sling swivel for one that does. Is it any more difficult than punching out the two pins on the bottom, the gas tube pin, and sliding on off and one on?

Those pins are tapered. You will want to use your calipers to determine which way to drive them. They can be very tight. Make sure and have good back up and probably use a starter punch. Pull the gas tube off with the sight, then change it over to the new sight/base.

As a side note. You may want to look at getting a float tube type handguard with the sling swivel. Sling pressure on the barrel, especially a light contour barrel, can dramatically change your point of impact.
