switching from moly back to naked bullets

I am considering the purchase of a PacNor 6mm barrel in 6mm AR. It was fired about 100 rounds with naked bullets and then about 40 rounds of moly bullets. I only want to use naked bullets. Can I clean all the moly out with no problems? Any recommendations?

MEK for quick complete removal, but don't get it on wood or bluing.

dieselten: With only 40 rounds of moly, I would not be too concerned. Just give it a good, thorough cleaning, ( I like JB borepaste myself), and go out & shoot it with uncoated bullets. I made the same switch years ago, after giving up on moly, but one barrel had a documented 300 rds. Gave it a good cleaning, and never had any problems thereafter.

When he say's give it a good thorough cleaning he means just that!

It took me a couple hours! Of compiled time in 2 days (with soaking time) to clean the Lubalox or what ever Nosler calls their black stuff. Sure the ballistic silver tip shot just fine, but when I went back to cooper jacket it wouldn't group till I REALLY cleaned it well.
Now i'm sure someone is going to come along and say "all you need is,,wizbang cleaner,,and it's no problem", well I'm sure that's the case, but I didn't have any and didin't go spend $12 get some. Just plenty of patches and plenty of passes and it came clean.

Thanks for the help guys. I picked up the rifle, it has a PacNor barrel and it cleaned up real easy. Started with Brake Cleaner and then soaked with Hoppes #9 overnight and the next patch comes out pristine so I think most or all of the moly is gone.

if u have a well ventalated area you can use Montana Extream with a oversied nylon brush and it works good thats what i used to get the moly out of my 30-06 and i had over 200 rounds of moly thrue it

by the way necchi is right! no mater what you use even with the expensiv stugh you have to take the time to clean it right and trust me it's a pane in the but.. well worth it thow when you consider the outcom. but wach out for some of thoes hi doller cleaners will glase the moly in your barel and it will take about a 2 weeks to get it all out insted of 2 days trust me i did it and ill never be that stupid agian
