Cleaning Moly From Coated Bullets

Anyone have a proven method of removing moly from coated bullets?
I used to shoot moly years ago and went wild coating every bullet I had. Don't want to be bothered with it any more and I want my naked bullets back.
Suggestions?

Kinda my thought process - contemplating tossing in some type of solvent or ???
I cleaned my moly tumbler bowls (one moly the other wax) and it was a M&%$#@ F%$@* to get the stuff out.

Couldnt help you with a solvent. I have not had to do too many to worry about cleaning my tumbler afterwords.

USe a 1 lbs powder container. Don't use your bowl. Just shove it in there.

I was told Windex works. Never tried it, but it can't hurt and I bet you have some around. I hope this helps,
Lloyd

Wipe them down with a clean cloth. Shoot them and dont buy anymore,it wont reck your gun or foul it so bad you wont ever get it cleaned again.I have shot thousands of these with no problems.

I had a bunch of 105 AMAX Moly coated. I wanted to use them for fire forming my new 6BRX barrel that I was going to use hBN in.

Put them in the tumbler/vibrator for 24 hours and they came out almost shiny copper! Just a bit of stain on the plastic tip.

Bur a warning! I destroyed my vibrator, it didn't like 24 hours as it overheated and stopped working! Just be sure yours has a fan on the motor, or you let it cool after, say, 8 hours, then do another 8 hours etc.

I removed moly from some several years ago and I just used water and dawn in my walnut media. The bullets got fairly clean but the tumbler looked like new. It was time for new media anyway.

Been in the bowl with walnut media and a little mineral spirits for 2hrs....they're getting there - slooooooowly.
May try the Dawn routine.

You might try putting them in a sieve and spraying with carb cleaner (berrymans b12 comes to mind). Use outside.

I use go joe hand cleaner after working with the moly. I haven't tried it on bullets but think it would work.

I tried the dishwashing liquid thing and it only made'em look like they had a better molly job done to'em. LOL
It didn't even stain the water.
Didn't use dawn, maybe that was the problem.
I just shot'em anyway and it was just as fun.

Quick update - tried numerous methods - and none seen to work other than simple walnut with a sprinkle of mineral spirits.
That and just let it run - a looong time. I think the original problem is I plated the bullets using the NECO methood - impact plating with steel shot and then the same with wax. Brutal stuff to remove. I tried solvents, Dawn etc. Best so far is about 15-20 hrs in the media. I mic'd a test batch before and after - zero dimensional change - checked down to .0001. Now - the real test will be seeing how they print on paper.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
