Switching bullets effect ES?

I know that switching to a different weight bullet will effect ES and SD, but what about a bullet of the same weight? I've been thinking of trying the 180 SMK's in my 284 over the 180 hybrids mainly because of the cost of the Berger's. Any chance my load will remain fairly constant other than having to mess with seating?

Sometimes the same bullet but different LOT # will make a difference.

If you switch anything, you have to start over with load development, sometimes you get lucky, often times not.

The longer Sierra bearing surface will likely raise pressure and the load will need some downward adjustment. The Sierra is ~.570" and the Hybrid ~.460". Seating depth will probably need adjustment, too, as the Sierra is a secant ogive design.

I also agree with both Erik and Donovan on their comments.
