switch to 223 from 308

Don't know that I have this in the proper forum, but wasn't sure where else to put it. I have a Savage 10, with HS Precision stock and blind mag that is currently a 308, I would like to re barrel to 223 but the follower is for 22-250 - 308, etc. It seems to feed ok but I can't find a 223 follower. What am I going to miss if I don't find a 223 follower?

Is your savage a stagger or center feed?Most 223’s have an extended baffle to shorten the bolt throw but I have both baffles in some of mine with no problems.If you need a stagger feed follower they are extremely scarce

Your 308 bolt face is too large for .223. , you would need a new bolt.

It's stagger feed and I have a bolthead. I think the follower is my only missing item.

I can do a 22 250, 6br or 6brx without anything new. I know the 223 bolt has a stop, but i can make the current bolt work.

New question does anyone know if a current model Center feed action and blind box magazine will fit into my old blind feed box

Thats a good idea, I'll call them tomorrow. I just bought this, may have to reconsider my plans .i.e. new gun or trade of some type may be in order.
