Switch-barrel Setup ?

Sorry for my ignorance. I've heard quite a few guys refer to their switch-barrel setups, and the versatility of the idea really appeals to me. What I don't know for sure is exactly what is involved...

I imagine that keeping the shoulder abuttment square between the action and barrel is most important. Is it reasonable to assume that a custom,Nesika) action has a square face and most of the attention is directed to the barrel shoulder or not?

I expect all barrels would need to be turned to the same outside dimensions. Further, I assume assembly doesn't include any thread-locker, or torqueing to over 100#.

It seems to me that as long as barrel dimensions are kept the same, a good BR gunsmith's chambering and fitting would already lend itself to switching barrels. What am I missing?

Thanks, Dick

Any of the custom actions SHOULD be as square as they need to be, and if the 2nd barrel is done EXACTLY the same as the 1st barrel, there will be no problem switching them.
A pinned or welded recoil lug would also be required to keep it from moving when the new barrel is installed.....
