Switch barrel rifles

I kind of want to go the most “compact” route for my first benchrest rifle. I want to dabble with 30br and 6ppc. I just have a few questions before I go on my search to buy one

1. Is there ANY accuracy loss because of switching over having a straight ppc?

2. If I bought a straight ppc or br, can it be converted to a switch barrel rifle by simply modifying the bolt?

3. Does the scarborough or scoville stocks that come in light varmint be weighted to make it a heavy varmint if I switch to 30 br?

4. So if I purchased a scoville LV in 6ppc, can I simply turn it into a HV in 30br? I kind of want to try both worlds without going further into bankruptcy

Thanks!

No.

No need. Most new benchrest actions will pull a PPC case from a BR boltface.

3. Does the scarborough or scoville stocks that come in light varmint be weighted to make it a heavy varmint if I switch to 30 br?

Yes.

4. So if I purchased a scoville LV in 6ppc, can I simply turn it into a HV in 30br?

In about 5 minutes.

I kind of want to try both worlds without going further into bankruptcy.

Good luck with that. :)

Toby is spot on. Ill add that an amphicar wasnt a good car or boat, an el camino wasnt a good car or truck, a fish and ski boat isnt good for fishing or skiing. I pretty much shoot a scarbrough exclusively in group shooting with a ppc. Its not a very good score shooting stock so i use a kelbly br with a 30br for score. If i was to combo it id say the best chance to win at both would be a kelbly br stock with a ppc barrel and a 30 major barrel. It would be 10.5lbs and have a 1lb weight. Hv and lv stocks are different- they dont just have a weight so its not the best of both worlds having a weight in the butt. You should be able to do well with a 10.5lb ppc in group and score when you get down to the grind in reality.
