There is nothing set in stone when hunting deer.I took a young buck this weekend with my bow at 40 yards, through the jugular, he ran 400 yards full tilt before piling up. Glad you recovered the buck. ZI'll post a picture in the deer section .

I personally would just consider that a fluke.
They are good hunting bullets pushed by a great cartridge. Chalk it up to one of those “tough to explain” things and keep on hunting.

Gary, that’s what we all said. Definitely will use the rest of those and load some other brands

my guess is it passed through a few inch tree on its way?
check its path to tgt.

funny thing about using a scope in the woods. crosshairs that extend top to bottom hide small trees and 80-90yds. highly likely
