Swift brass these days ?

Hi all, tell me , what brand 220 swift brass seems to be the best these days ? we used norma a long time ago !

cheers Dave

Not using it for 220 Swift but here's my experience with Winchester 220 Swift brass

I bought some Winchester 220 Swift brass 6-8 years ago and used it to make 6.5 MD JD. It has held up real well considering how much modification it went through. Neck it up to 6.5, shoot fire form load which blows the shoulder forward and almost makes a straight walled case. 60 degree shoulder. I do aneeal after 4 firings. Sierra 120 Spitzers will do 2725FPS out of my 15 inch Encore barrel.

Win is still GTG. Norma is Better! I have move pass my swift days. I do love the 220 Swift! However the 22BR has given much better results for accuracy and barrel life. Plus it isn't far behind the swift in vel either!! Guess I'm a 22BR guy now! ;) The Swift is still a great round tho!!!

Still using the Swift here. I'm on my 3rd one since 1974. Used winchester for a long time and still it is good brass, but LOVE the Norma brass. I tried some Remington brass and I won't do that again. Fortuneatly I only had to pitch 20 of them as that is all I tried. WD

I use the Winchester brass in my match chambered Swift. Loaded round is .259 neck diameter in a .262 neck chamber and it works well. I had to go thru about 3 different lots of brass to find the right combo. They have varying neck wall thicknesses but the brass is great after sorting etc. for your needs. My other rifle is a .220 Weatherby Rocket and that is set up for Norma brass which is also very good but is a tad thin in the neck thickness department as this particular rifle has a .256 neck and the Norma brass loads out at right around .253. Or I could always use Winnie brass in my Rocket after neck turning to fit the chamber. I have never used Remmy brass in any of my Swifts but there are guys out there using it with good success. Love my Swifts!!
