No, that’s just what the English do, it’s a right hand,
I have been shooting a long time and never saw one of these the other way, everyone of those guys were right hand shooters

So they reach across the sight to the left side? That seems odd.

They usually have knobs on both sides.

This is probably from a right handed action in a left handed stock, when true left handed Swings hadn't started being made yet.
