SWAGER ?

Fellas, here are my swedging dies that I purchased in 1972. They have worked great for thousands of military primer pockets. Don't know if the manufacturer is still in business . . .

Don't know what I'm doing wrong, lol, but my early '70s vintage RCBS swedging tool has always worked fine on crimped military brass - I do note that the surface finish of the spud, out of the box, was and is a whole lot smoother than the one pictured above. Given that they have a "2" version out now, supposedly improved, I probably would have bought one if I had first needed one today instead of 40 years ago.

I've also, in a pinch, simply run the tip of the blade of a pen knife around the primer pocket rim like I was trying to peel an apple, and that worked, too, but it was neither consistant or pretty, and more work than a swedging type tool..... I think any of the other cutting tools mentioned already would probably be better, but I definitely prefer some brand of swedge die for volume work.

I use a wood counter sink bit in my cordless drill it does a good job removing the crimp it looks alot like the Forster Primer Pocket Chamfering Tool
