Supressors

Hello everyone!
so i have a question that i think I know the answer to, but im going to ask it anyway. are there any level/form of compitition in the us where it is legal to shoot with a supressor? i have a few plans on the board for some long range rifles with integrated supressors, and was wondering if i could ever use them in any form of competition. if not hey, i still will have some awsome guns with integrated supressors! i live in Nevada if that helps any, and supressors are legal here, take that california!

There are some forms of tactical competition that allow suppressed weapons.

BTW, suppressors can be licensed in California, just not by individuals. Title II dealers or manufacturers can obtain licensing from CA DOJ. You are generally correct, however. All our neighbors (OR, NV, AZ) trust their citizens, but not California. When you think of what Sacramento routinely does to CA residents, they may have a point.

No, the CA DOJ is very restrictive. The only justification they allow is for a Title II licensee who is doing business with military or law enforcement.

I shoot in Practical\Tactical matches with either my 260 or 308, I own a Shark Suppressor which is light weight and quiet, but I never shoot a match with my can on, the reason being is I don't need it, and it becomes a sail in the wind while shooting in any other position besides prone, my suggestion is if you want to shoot with a can on in matches cut your barrels to 18 inches.

No reason you can't use one in IBS Long Range Benchrest classes (600 and 1000yd).

thanks for all the replies! all very helpfull. these rifles will have integral supressors, they are shorter than cans that mount on the barrel, and more efficient.
