indoor rifle shooters match or league 22lr

I've been a shooter for most of my life some form of compitition, I have and always had problems settling down in the sitting position and the best that i can do is hold the 9 ring, and I practice and work hard at it but it never gets better , any
personnal, or professional help is highly appreciated, thanks

Indoor ranges have their own set of environmental conditions, most of which you can not see via wind flags or grass, leaves, etc., moving due to air currents. You'll need to look closer for those "changes".

I think the OP is referring to issues with the stability of an elbows-on-knees sling-supported position. In my experience wind is not an issue indoors on smallbore targets: cold and light are, but not wind.

To the OP, I'm afraid I don't shoot sitting, but you really need to find in-person coaching. Internet coaching is tough, especially when you give is so little information. What rifle, stock, sights, jacket, sling etc? At the very least, the forum needs pictures of you in position. Even then, it can be hard to sport more than egregious errors: it's nearly impossible to gauge critical aspects like sling tension from a photo.

Where are you located? Finding a good coach may be an option….

Are you anywhere near the Upstate of SC? We have a monthly 3-P match where coaching is available.

Thanks 65 my self but I have had problems since i was a junior with sittng just never really got coached or really got with someone that could help me, always hoped there was some simple something that i'm just not doing thanks

I have had issues in sitting due to bad knees and limited ROM. Sitting with my legs in a figure 4, getting my sling elbow out past my knee and resting on the back part worked for me. I also did ok with just plopping down and having both knees up, feet in front. But, getting that sling elbow out past the knee and resting on the back side vs on the point helps.

go to YouTube and look up Ken Roxburgh and also US AMU . There are videos of service rifle shooters and sitting position coaching. It isn’t much different than indoor rimfire except for the recoil and distances.

#1 sitting issue is using muscle to aim the rifle. #2 is establishing NPA and #3 is figuring out how to build a position that eliminates pulse.
