Suppressor Material

That is a nice case! You got your stamp much quicker than I did. I usually put mine back in the factory boxes and store them in the safe.

My experience with suppressors.

The tune will likely change, on vs off
The titanium ones make a lot of mirage, have to run my fan on higher speed.
I can’t find an ammo that will shoot well on one of 22s with a can on but shoots great without one. No experience with this on a centerfire yet.

Guns are more fun to shoot with a can!

I took the xc with the can to the range this morning and what a difference. I shot about 7 rounds and I didn't wear electronic ear-muffs on 5 of them. There are three things I don't like about the adding the can.
The first is the gun is really long. I knew this before I bought the can but now that I'm maneuvering the "broom" around, I have to try not to bump everything around me.
The second thing I don't like is related to the first. I don't want to keep un-screwing/screwing the can but I don't have a gun case long enough. I'm thinking of make a wooden gun case for it but I first need to finish several projects.
The third is I don't like how the threads have a lot play while you are screwing on the can. I noticed the break Urbanrifleman is loose 80% of the way but tightens up near the end and is very sold when you torq it down. If you look at the end of the surpressor in the last picture, you can see a long gap after the threads end. The threads for the break go all the way to end so they lock-up. I'm thinking of sending the barrel to my gunsmith and having him cut back the material after the threads. This would allow more of the threads holding on the can. I hope I'm making sense.

I would contact the manufacturer of the suppressor and ask if they have a thread specification drawing. Your gunsmith can then machine the barrel for correct fitment. I don't know how your suppressor is designed but it could index, or tighten up against, either the muzzle or a shoulder on the barrel.

edit; Maybe I don't understand. Does it thread on to a brake or directly on to the barrel? I was looking at this picture on their web page and it looks like it needs an (edit 25 deg.) angled shoulder degrees to tighten up against, at least the one in the picture does.

edit again ;) If you didn’t get a manual with it you can download one from their web site. On the third page of the manual the 4th paragraph which begins “1 - “ there’s some mounting specs given.

AccelR8,
Yes I have it threaded right on to the barrel. This might be my problem. I'll contact the manufacturer and ask if I need to buy that adapter.
If I had a choice though, I would rather have the surpresser threaded right on to the barrel. Having a another piece in between holding both sides together seems more complicated then it needs to be. If I had a choice between the break and the can, I would choose the can.

Yeah definitely call them and get an answer ASAP. I fear you may not have enough thread engagement and may be risking misalignment or having it come loose, either of which could cause a bullet to strike the innards and cause damage.

Before you buy a no name or lesser name suppressor, go to silencer central website, look around and give them a call. A Banish 30 will cost you $999 and is a great unit - read about it and talk to one of the sales people - I have one and could not be happier and everyone one I have recommend them to has made a purchase.
+1 on the above info. My Banish just cleared ATF after 6 months and should be in hand in about a week. Deposit and monthly payments made it a pain free purchase. Pony up and buy the best you can afford and don't look back.
