Suppressor Failure

I assumed they really wanted the serial numbered tubed. The other pieces would be a bonus so they could determine the "why" of the failure.

I had put the can on and only fired 7 shots pretty sure mine was tight..

And as stated above, I use an ASR mount. Apparently you can spin onto the ASR and think you are threading it and not actually have it engaged. Cost me a $75 anchor brake end cap both times. Mine only went about 30 yards.

Watch the video. It shows that the 2 springs that press the teeth on the ASR mount into the teeth on the suppressor weaken after repeated use. (Tells me the temper isn't right). Disassemble the ASR mount and take a small screw driver to flex the spring/clip ends back to the original shape. Once you do that and feel what a positive engagement feels like you won't have that problem again. Mine gets swapped from rifle to rifle and into storage at least once every weak and now I know what it feels like for those teeth to get a good grip and all is well.
 
Wow, Glad they are standing behind it. Sorry you got hurt. Did you need stitches? Did it mess up the threads on the rifle?
 
Tony said the same thing the recoil and noise was terrible when the one at the suppressor shoot went bad. But they know for sure it was a baffle strike as the can got loose and some parts reflected the strike. I seem to remember they never found all the parts.
 
I have seen a reflex fly down range when the owner forgot to tighten it. They do fly a long way and that expression on the owners face last a very long time when he realizes what happend :D
 
I have seen this happen on a 452 wildcat using sub loads. The issue was unburnt powder in the silencer, which eventually ignited. The threads on the tube gave way and the front took off leaving a vapour trail.
 
Update on the issue... Here is what I was told and it seems to be a fine resolution from my perspective. The internals of these suppressors were farmed out to a third party. They said the manufacturer of the internals was shut down due to covid and they can not be reached. They are going to destroy the old one and send me a Nomad Ti as a replacement which is a newer model. They are also going to send me a check for the Tax Stamp... So it will cost me nothing and should be getting a better suppressor in return. I will just need to wait.

I am fine with the resolution. They offered to keep the old one in hopes that the manufacturer of the internals would open back up but I truly believe they severed ties with that company and want to keep customers happy as best they can..

Bad thing is they sub out the internals. I'd think a suppressor company would do all manufacturing on premise.
 
This was very informative.Happened to me on a Hybrid46 with an ASR mount. Thought what in the hell did I do or just happened?
Explains it well.
My 223 end cap is now a 30 cal one.
Luckily no baffle damage.

I run lock tite on my direct thread suppressors as they tend to shoot loose being a right handed thread. Scary when they come loose. No harm done in my instance. Thankfully. Lock tite is your friend. Considering a left hand thread for my next suppressor build.
